1. What is Pre-diabetes?
Pre-diabetes is a condition in which blood glucose levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be classified as full-blown diabetes. If you have pre-diabetes, you are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes and also are at increased risk of developing heart disease.
2. What is HabitNu Diabetes Prevention Program?
HabitNu program is a year-long lifestyle change program recognized by the Centers for Disease Control. With support, you will learn to develop lifelong habits that stick and prevent diabetes. A moderate 7% weight loss and 150 minutes/week of physical activity can reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by half.
3. Who is eligible for HabitNu DPP?
You need to be at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes. Please take the risk test to see whether you are covered by your health plan. You will receive a free digital scale and earn a Fitbit when you engage.
4. What do I need to do after I join the program?
During the program you will track your weight 3 times a week, track your weekly activity and meet with your lifestyle coach online. Your lifestyle coach will guide you through the program meet with you online once a week for 16 weeks. You will be part of a small group of people working towards the same goal. During the year-long program you will get all the support to develop life-changing habits.
5. What technology do I need?
HabitNu program fits your convenience and can be accessed by a computer, tablet or smartphone.
6. What if I miss my online sessions with the lifestyle coach?
No problem. You will receive the session content as a short video beginning of the week. All the sessions are recorded. You can watch it at any time.
